Hi, I'm Abby!

Hi, I'm Abby!

Hello, I'm Abby Timothy, the hand behind every piece at Abby T Leather. My journey with leather has been an adventure. I first dabbled in leather when I was 17, for a senior project. For my senior project, I created a Rope Halter Leather Noseband. I enjoyed the process that I could create something with my own two hands.

In 2019, I became more serious with creating leather projects. My mindset was and still is "I can make that". I didn't even own a workbench and my mom helped me buy the essentials to start. I did my first wallet on the floor of my bedroom! Afterwards, I purchased a workbench. I was so excited that I created something that I posted to Instagram, where I got my first order! I have learned so much from that very first wallet. practicing for hours and hours into the wee hours in the morning and avoiding college homework. It has been a learning curve and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Growing up, I was always on a horse. Riding after school or on the weekends, you name it. Horse shows, team ropings, rodeos, and trail rides are something I will always remember doing as a kid. I have always been drawn to the natural beauty of horses and the art of leatherwork in tack that I would love to put on my horses.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in 2022. Afterwards, I spent my time working a home/work life balance. What started as a little school project and hobby quickly turned into a full-time endeavor. I've spent countless hours honing my craft, learning traditional techniques while also experimenting with modern bold designs. My creations are a blend of contemporary western flair, designed for those that appreciate the beauty and function of leather.

Whether it is a custom rope can, belt, or a claw clip. I take pride in crafting items that not only look beautiful, but built to last. For me, leatherwork is more than a trade, it's a craft rooted in history and imbued with a personal touch. Each piece is designed with care, combining my love for the west, with a dedication to detail and quality.

When I am not in the workshop, you will find me outside either entering Spartan races, teaching tricks to my dogs, or just enjoying the great outdoors.

Each piece I make is handcrafted with are from the initial sketch to the final product. Whether you are a working cowboy/cowgal, western enthusiast, western fashion lover or someone who appreciates a well made product, that embodies the strength and beauty of the American West.

Thank you for supporting small, handmade business like me. Thank you for being apart of this journey. See you in the next one <3
